Company History

Pidilite Industries Limited founded in 1959 under the leadership of Balvant Parekh in Andheri situated in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The company began operations as a producer of specialty chemicals, such as synthetic glue. Pidilite became famous in the 1960s thanks to its top-selling synthetic resin adhesive Fevicol which soon became a huge hit with carpenters and householders.

In 1973 Pidilite began to venture into the field of industrial chemicals, by creating India’s first violet-colored pigment. The company then increased its product range by introducing consumer products such as the epoxy sealant M-seal as well as the FeviKwik, a cyanoacrylate-based adhesive. By the time it was 1990, Pidilite was exporting its products to more than 80 countries, and also had subsidiaries in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia.

In the year 2015 Pidilite bought 70% of the stakes Nina Waterproofing Systems to strengthen its capabilities in the field of construction chemicals. Pidilite created a joint partnership along with the Italian business, Industria Chimica Adriatica Spa in 2016 to create wood-based finishes.
