Mitashi was established in the form of Maze Marketing in the year 1991 by Rakesh Dugar and Hasmukh Gada. It was initially an online retailer of gaming cartridges, video games, and phone equipment. The company was the sole retailer of Sega video games made in Japan. Maze Marketing was renamed Mitashi in 1998, the year it introduced its own video games for television such as Contra and Mario as well as talking educational computers.
